Case Study: Lifestyle Campaign, Stills and Motion

Case study

A campaign that needed stills and motion to match

A lifestyle brand needing a campaign for stills and motion at once. Shooting them as two separate productions is the normal approach and the reason so many campaigns look like two different brands. We built one production that delivered both from the same setups and the same crew.

What they came in needing

A seasonal campaign to run across the homepage, paid social and email, plus video cutdowns for the same channels. TODO: name the client here once cleared.

What made it difficult

Stills and motion are usually booked as two productions, often with two crews on two days. The result is imagery and video that share a concept but not a look, because the lighting, the styling and the grade were all decided twice.

What we shot

One production covering both. Each setup was lit so it worked for stills and for motion, then shot for stills and rolled for video before striking. Studio setups for the controlled frames, location work for the lifestyle context the campaign needed.

How the day ran

Production handled casting, styling and locations ahead of the day so the shoot itself was about the shot. Because both formats came off the same setup, the changeover cost was a camera swap rather than a relight, which is what made a two production job fit into one.

What was delivered

Campaign stills cropped for each placement, plus video cut to platform: the long form for the homepage and vertical cutdowns for social. Colour graded to match the stills, so the video and the imagery read as one campaign.

What changed afterwards

TODO: the client's own account, and any published result.
